Keeping a house clean with kids at home (realistically)

By · · 4 min read

About half our clients have young kids, and the ones who seem least stressed are not the ones with the cleanest houses. They are the ones with a quick nightly reset.

The fifteen-minute reset

  • Toys into one bin per room. Sorting can wait.
  • Dishes into the dishwasher and run it.
  • Wipe the kitchen table and the high chair tray.
  • One load of laundry started, every night.

Let the big stuff go

Mopping, bathrooms, and dusting are what a regular cleaning visit is for. If you are on a biweekly plan, you only have to keep the house livable in between, not clean.

The ten-minute reset before dinner has been a game changer with my two. They actually race each other now.

Appreciate that you mentioned what is safe around toddlers. That is always my first question with any service.
